At CFIB, we know that you want to earn a living from the marketplace. But farmers face unique challenges like weather, disease, and border closures. That’s why when farmers do need government business risk managements programs, they have to work.
In the past, business risk management programs have been time consuming, difficult to understand, costly to participate in and offered inadequate payments. We’re pushing for something better: programs that are transparent, accessible, predictable and timely.
This week federal, provincial and territorial ministers of agriculture are meeting to look at the future of business risk management programs. We’re pushing to ensure that when farmers do need these programs, they really work.
