Ann Whiteway Brown

 

Ann Whiteway Brown was educated at York University (Osgoode Professional Centre Graduate Studies) and is currently studying LL.M. part-time, with an anticipated completion date of 2009. She obtained her LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1981 and her B.B.A. from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1978.

She is the sole practitioner in a general practice law firm since 1992, and is a previous Partner and Associate in two law firms, one in Toronto, Ontario and the other in Woodstock, N.B.

She was called to the Law Society of Upper Canada following one year articling and one year of bar admission in 1983; and was called to the Law Society of New Brunswick in 1985.

She is a member of the following bodies: New Brunswick Legal Aid Area Committee Chair 2007 (on committee since 1985), New Brunswick Legal Aid since 1985; Law Society of New Brunswick since 1985; Law Society of New Brunswick Instructor Bar Admission Course-2008; Canadian Bar Association – 1978 (Collaborative Law Section – 2003; Family Law section area representative – 2007; Peer volunteer – 2007); Canadian Federation of Independent Business since 1992; Carleton-Victoria Bar Association Member since 1985; Volunteer Family Resource Centre Board Member since 2006; Parent School Support Committee member – 2003; St. Luke’s Anglican Parish of Woodstock Layreader – 2003.
