Ontario Budget delivers little… but tax relief stays!

For a document billed as, Ontario’s Plan for Jobs and Growth, there was little to nothing for small businesses in the recent Ontario Budget. The half-hearted 8-year plan to balance the budget will increase the provincial debt to nearly $270 billion by 2014; up from $193 billion today.

No action was taken on:

Cutting the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) Rate
Cutting Red Tape
Fixing the financial mess at the WSIB

But your voice did convince the government to maintain:

Previously announced cuts to personal income taxes
Previously announced cuts to small business taxes; followed recommendations from our 2009 tax report
