CFIB writes to Premier McGuinty on YOE
Earlier this year, the Government of Canada adopted a joint recommendation by the CFIB and the CYBF to declare 2011 Year of the Entrepreneur nation-wide. Both groups subsequently wrote to Premier Dalton McGuinty to encourage a similar designation in Ontario.
While this designation may seem largely symbolic it does help to further push small business issues into the pre-election spotlight. Aside from giving credit where credit is due - the job creators - this announcement provides the small business community with a powerful "narrative" to press for commitments that respond to their concerns ahead of the October 6th provincial vote. Stay tuned as CFIB presses the party leaders for those measures.
In the meantime, on behalf of the CFIB, congratulations to all entrepreneurs on this well deserved recognition.
