What about wage subsidies?
Wage subsidies encourage hiring people from specific groups, including students, recent graduates, people with disabilities, etc. The summary at the bottom of this page is a great one-stop resource to learn more about wage subsidies. Planning ahead is important especially if there are application deadlines. For example, applications to Canada Summer Jobs for hiring students in the summer of 2012 were received only until the end of February 2012.

How does the EI Premium Reduction Plan work?
