Importing: Resources to help you grow business
Importing can be a great growth opportunity when goods you need for your business are unavailable in Canada or cost less in other countries. Importing into Canada is a regulated activity and it is important to follow the steps laid out by Canada Border Services Agency to ensure your importing success.
Importing can be a great way to grow your business, however, starting out can seem overwhelming. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has created a great web resource with their Small and Medium Enterprise Center. Here you can access information such as a Step-by-Step guide to Importing, checklists for Importing Commercial goods, and even a SME Toolkit boasting a variety of resources for small and medium enterprises.
Another recommended resource is through Canada Business. This government website offers advice along with a convenient list of International Trade Training Programs.
Did you know VuBiz offers CFIB members free online courses? If you are interested in importing or exporting may we recommend: Doing Business in the Americas Certificate or Trade Series Certificate.
