Presentation
We constantly meet with government and opposition parties to present your views on issues that impact your business. The months leading up to the provincial budget are especially busy because the budget is the document that provides the direction for the province for the year - and often sets the tone for years to come.
CFIB recently presented our 2012 pre-budget recommendations to Hon. Ken Krawetz, Minister of Finance on behalf of our 5,250 Sask members.
This year, we are asking government to help small business continue to sharpen their competitive edge by presenting a budget that helps businesses create jobs.
Here are some of CFIB's key recommendations:
- Commit to limit annual spending increases to rate of GDP growth.
- Continue to lower the total tax burden (e.g. further personal income tax relief and announce a plan to eliminate the Small Business Tax Rate)
- Announce legislation for red tape accountability measures, public reporting and targets for red tape reductions.
- Continue to improve Sask's road and infrastructure by keeping election commitment to invest $2.2 billion over the next four years.
