CFIB campaigning against small business over-taxation
The tax burden on small business in Newfoundland and Labrador is increasingly untenable. Businesses pay far more in tax than residents, but get little in return – essentially subsidizing residential services.
In some municipalities a small business can pay between 2 and 5 times the tax that a resident in the same community pays. There’s a possibility that with a new fiscal framework the tax gap could widen even further.
We have launched our campaign “Stop Overtaxing Small Business” to urge the municipalities and the provincial government to reduce the financial burden on small business so you can invest in your business, your employees and your community.
