July 13, Minister Darin King announced that total employment will grow by 2.8% from 2011 to 2020, representing 7,700 new jobs in the provincial economy. Skills Task Force consultations lead to announcement on apprenticeships

CFIB calling for monthly assessments, based on actual payroll

CFIB is calling for the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (WHSCC) to allow small business owners to pay their workers’ compensation assessments monthly, based on their actual payroll. This payment plan, which would operate similar to the system of paying payroll deductions to the federal government, is available in many other provinces.
