CFIB asks Feds/Ontario to provide relief to Goderich businesses

Following the destruction caused by a powerful tornado in Goderich, we have requested that the Federal government and the Province of Ontario provide additional flexibility to affected businesses in remitting payroll source deductions and sales taxes.

CFIB's take on corporate income tax debate

Both the Conservatives and the Liberals have been outlining their tax priorities in recent days citing CFIB's positions on a number of issues. To set the record straight, both parties are correct in some respects. CFIB does support the continuation of already announced corporate income tax cuts. We also feel that further action is needed on payroll taxes, notably Employment Insurance premiums that increased on January 1, 2011.
