CFIB highlights small business priorities in the Halifax pre-budget submission

Small businesses drive the economy in Halifax but are often not treated with the respect they deserve. CFIB made a submission to the municipal government in advance of the budget, presenting the areas of importance to CFIB members that must be addressed if Halifax wants to become a leading small business-friendly community.

Areas to address include:

  • Municipal taxes
  • Cost of government
  • Sensitivity to local businesses
  • Local government regulation

Small business is big business in Halifax. Given the economic and social contributions that small businesses make to the municipality, more must be done to create an environment that encourages small business success.
