When the provincial government increased the minimum wage in April of 2018, they announced any future increases would be tied to national inflation.
However, there are groups who wish to see the minimum wage increased further – namely to $15 per hour and then a living wage. We understand the effect a minimum wage increase can have on small businesses.
We recently wrote to the Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour to present our research on the minimum wage, and now we need you to add your voice! Please consider signing our Action Alert, pushing back on a $15 per hour minimum wage; we promise to deliver them to Members of the House of Assembly.
