  • Pushing for fair Workplace Safety and Health rules for Manitoba employers

Issue:

Workplace Safety and Health (WS&H) is currently going through its five-year review, which the government launched on May 1st, 2017. This review will be ongoing into the fall and winter. We know WS&H plays a significant role in the day-to-day operations of your business, and CFIB is working to ensure small business views are heard during this consultation process.

Action:

July 31, 2017 - CFIB submitted your concerns to the government for the 2017 Review of The Workplace Safety and Health Act: Improving Workplace Safety and Health for Manitoba Small Businesses.

Our core recommendations included:

  • Achieve fairness for employers;
  • Improve customer support for small businesses; and
  • Reduce red tape.

Next Steps:

We plan to meet with the new Minister of Growth, Enterprise & Trade to discuss your concerns before any changes are decided. Please feel free to share your feedback with CFIB about what impact WS&H rules have on your business, by contacting Business Resources at 1-888-234-2232 or [email protected].

If you have other questions about WS&H, please call Business Resources.
