Wanted: Government Vision for Small Business

This survey reveals how small business owners feel about their provincial government.

The findings show dramatic differences from province to province, with Saskatchewan being the most confident that their premier understands the realities of running a small business (52%) and Ontario being the least confident (3%).

Other highlights include:

  • 23% of Canadian business owners are confident their provincial government has a vision that supports small business
  • Nationally, 45% of small businesses report they would likely recommend starting a business in their province
  • 59% of Canadian small business owners say provincial taxes discourage them from growing their business
