  • Taxes, Red tape top priority for Budget 2017

The PEI government is set to finally produce a balanced budget this year.  That's welcome news to Island small business owners who have long been concerned with annual deficits and the growing provincial debt.

With a balanced budget on the horizon, we are now turning out attention to much needed tax relief.  It's no secret that PEI is a high-tax jurisdiction.  With hikes in recent years, Island small businesses want to see PEI become a more competitive jurisdiction- particularly since Canada Pension Plan (CPP) premium hikes are on their way and government is looking to introduce a new carbon tax.

Another top priority is to see government move ahead in it's agenda to reduce the red tape businesses face every day.  Reducing paperwork and red tape goes a long way to saving businesses both time and money.
