Bradlee Whidden

Western Economist

Bradlee Whidden is the Western economist for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). Based in Calgary, Bradlee works with all levels of government to support small businesses. His key files include taxation, productivity, regulation, and internal trade.

Bradlee first joined the organization as an intern in 2023, authoring Property Tax Reports for Alberta and British Columbia. Since then, Bradlee has also authored several editions of CFIB’s Red Tape Report Card, a national regulatory count, and a major research report examining Canada’s tax competitiveness with the United States.

Bradlee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Calgary and is completing a Master’s degree in International Finance and Economic Policy at Columbia University.
