Kayode Southwood

Senior Policy Analyst, Alberta

Kayode Southwood is the Senior Policy Analyst for Alberta at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), where he leads advocacy and policy initiatives that support the province’s small and medium-sized enterprises. With a national background in government relations and external affairs, Kayode brings deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and cross-functional leadership.

Prior to joining CFIB, he held roles at Keyera and Impact Public Affairs. At Keyera, he managed the midstream gas company’s external relationships with government and community stakeholders across Alberta, focusing on municipal engagement and energy policy. At Impact Public Affairs, he worked with a range of Canadian advocacy associations to amplify their voice in government and the media through strategic communications and policy campaigns.

Kayode holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a BA in Labour and Industrial Relations from McGill University. Outside of work, he serves on the board of the McGill Alumni Association of Calgary.
