Small Business Votes! 2025 Alberta Municipal Election
Make sure your next municipal leaders consider small business priorities!
Municipal elections matter for your business. Albertans head to the polls on October 20, 2025, to choose their next municipal leaders. Municipal elections are often overlooked, with less than half of eligible voters casting a ballot in Alberta’s 2021 municipal election. It’s vital that you share your voice as a small business owner in this year’s election so municipal governments address your concerns!
Your vote can shape municipal policies on property taxes, spending, construction, red tape, and crime safety. CFIB is here to make sure small business priorities are heard.
What is CFIB asking of Alberta’s next municipal governments?
When asked about the 2025 municipal election in a recent survey, Alberta’s small business owners cited property taxes (69%), crime and safety (55%), and red tape (55%) as top issues for their next municipal leaders to address.
Key Small Business Election Asks and Priorities:
To secure the small business vote in the 2025 municipal election, candidates must outline their plans to support small firms by addressing the cost of doing business, improving affordability and tackling crime and community safety.
