eManifest for highway carriers

On November 1, 2012, the eManifest for highway carriers travelling into Canada came into effect.  Highway carriers must now comply with the requirement to electronically transmit cargo and conveyance data a minimum of one hour prior to arrival at the border or they will be denied entry and will face non-monetary penalties. As of May 1, 2013, highway carriers that do not comply will be denied entry to Canada and will face monetary penalties.

Methods of transmitting data electronically are listed on the CSBA website or highway carriers can use the internet based eManifest Portal.
