Does the card in your wallet cost small business a fortune?

After significant negotiations with Canadian credit card companies, CFIB released a comprehensive list of the cost levels of nearly every credit card in the wallets of Canadian consumers and businesses.

When you visit a smaller merchant, we ask you to consider paying with a regular cost credit card, your Interac debit card or cash in order to help merchants keep costs down.

Note: The Credit Card Rate Chart identifies which credit cards are considered to have “regular” processing costs, and which are listed as being in “premium” or “corporate” categories, and thus have higher costs. Thanks to CFIB lobbying, many of these rates have been reduced. The rate sheet is currently being updated because of these reductions, and should be available soon.
