Big Win for P.E.I. Businesses
The latest data from Tourism P.E.I. found a 25% year-over-year increase in vehicles crossing to the island in August. The jump follows the federal government’s August 1, 2025 announcement to reduce Confederation Bridge tolls, from $50.25 to $20, for travel between New Brunswick and P.E.I., along with a 50% cut in ferry fares between Nova Scotia and the island.
This is a good sign for P.E.I.’s small businesses, which stand to benefit from the surge in visitors, especially during the island’s summer tourism season.
After years of advocacy —including a petition , meetings with policymakers and politicians at all levels of government a –we’re proud to see our hard work paying off. Confederation Bridge toll reductions are a win for small businesses on both the island and the mainland.
