Manitoba's minimum wage increases to $13.50/hour on October 1, 2022

Effective October 1, 2022, Manitoba’s general minimum wage is $13.50 per hour.

  • General Minimum Wage: The minimum wage applies equally to all employees regardless of age or the number of hours worked. FAQs are available on the Minimum Wage Fact Sheet.
  • Security Guard Minimum Wage: On September 28, 2022, the Government repealed the fixed security guard minimum wage of $12.50 per hour as set under the Employment Standards Code; this change will come into force October 1, 2022. Minimum Wage for everyone working in Manitoba will be $13.50 per hour as of October 1, 2022.
  • Construction Minimum Wage: While the general minimum wage applies to workers in residential construction and building maintenance, there are separate minimum wages for the heavy construction sector and the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) sectors of the construction industry.
