How to sell to the federal government

Based in part on CFIB’s requests to make procurement information more accessible, the federal government now manages its own tenders at buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Here you will find federal government tenders and amendments to tender opportunities. This service is 100% free.

Note that the process to sell to government has not changed. Also, MERX continues to post tenders for contracts with provincial, municipal and US governments, schools, hospitals and private companies. Visit CFIB’s page on MERX to learn more.

MERX offers free tutorials on several tender-related topics, including How to Search for Tenders, Solicitation Management, and Electronic Bid Submission. Canada Business Network has information on selling to the federal government, ranging from how to prepare a bid to promoting yourself to government buyers. The federal government also offers webinars (and seminars) on topics related to procurement – you can find a calendar of events on the buy and sell website.
