Since 2010, top students from across Canada have taken the skills they have learned in university and applied them at the practical level at CFIB.

The Scotiabank/CFIB internship is designed to help students understand the realities of running a small business in Canada while helping them build important relationships with key stakeholders in government and the small business community. Over a four month period interns:

  • Publish an in-depth research report that is used in lobbying meetings at the provincial. municipal and federal levels.
  • Write letters and develop communication skills tailored toward dealing with government, small business owners and program partners.
  • Participate in special training sessions conducted by CFIB, Scotiabank, and guest expert speakers on topics ranging from lobbying to government and the economy.
  • Work with other interns and staff across Canada.

The future of entrepreneurship in Canada is in good hands, with Scotiabank and CFIB.
