Red Tape Awareness WeekTM 2012 – Real action, real results!
Red Tape: Unnecessary paperwork, regulations and processes which slow down decision making and action
Breaking news: CFIB celebrates federal Red Tape Reduction Commission’s recommendations to seriously reduce red tape.
CFIB has fought for a long time to get governments to recognize that red tape is a burden that hurts SMEs. They lose hours on the phone with government agencies. They have to comply with confusing and arbitrary rules. They often deal with unhelpful and even aggressive customer service agents. Many see this as just the cost of doing business.
Not CFIB!
In its third annual Red Tape Awareness WeekTM, CFIB has a wide range of activities designed to show how much of a problem red tape is for SMEs, what is being done about it, and who is leading the way on change!
This year, we are proud and excited to present:
- Red Tape Digital Diaries – Our members tell you – in their own words – how red tape hurts them and their pocketbook!
- Golden Scissors Award - This is the first ever edition of the award where we highlight the work of those within government who have stepped up and struck a blow against red tape.
- CRA Report Card – The fourth edition of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) report card surveys our members on all issues CRA. Are things getting better? Or are they getting worse?
- Provincial Red Tape Report Card – In our second annual report card, we rate each province on their progress on fighting red tape.
- And more! Look for political announcements and work on the agriculture file!
We will be updating this page throughout the week to highlight victories and areas of improvement. You can also find out more by following us on Twitter (@cfib) or by visiting our Facebook page.
There might be a long way to go, but real change is happening across Canada!
