CFIB’s #SmallBusinessEveryDay Big Thank You Contest is back
Toronto, October 2, 2023 – The #SmallBusinessEveryDay Big Thank You contest, run by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), is back for its fourth year today. The contest encourages Canadians to show support to their favourite local, independent businesses.
“Small businesses help keep our communities strong and our economy thriving. In fact, for every dollar spent at a small business, 66 cents on average stays local. Compare that to only 11 cents that is reinvested locally when you shop at a large multinational,” said Corinne Pohlmann, Executive Vice-President at CFIB. “Every time you choose to shop local, remember that two-thirds of your dollar goes back into your community.”
#SmallBusinessEveryDay Big Thank You Contest details:
What: A chance for small business supporters to win $1,000 cash to shop local and a Big Thank You Box that includes small business products from every province and territory.
Where: Enter at SmallBusinessEveryDay.ca.
When: October 2 to October 30
Who: All adults residing in Canada can enter. Supporters can thank multiple businesses for more chances to win. No purchase required.
How: Small business supporters can enter the weekly draw by visiting SmallBusinessEveryDay.ca and leaving a thank-you note to their favourite small Canadian business. The winners— one supporter and the business they thanked—are announced every week. The winning businesses will receive a $2,500 cash prize sponsored by Interac Corp., a one-year CFIB membership and a Big Thank You box.
The contest is sponsored by Scotiabank and Interac Corp.
Business owners can download CFIB’s new digital toolkit, including a printable poster and customizable social images, to promote local shopping and the contest here. For more information on how to support small businesses, check out SmallBusinessEveryDay.ca.
More data around the contributions of small businesses to their communities will be featured in an upcoming CFIB report this fall.
