InclusionNL has two new programs to help employers – the Employer Support Subsidies Program (ESSP) for People with Disabilities, and the Workplace Adjustments program.
Employer Support Subsidies Program for People with Disabilities
This program provides employers with funding to help support the employment of skilled individuals, and in turn provides valuable work experience for individuals with disabilities. ESSP provides a subsidy of up to 50% per hour towards the hourly wages of an individual for a maximum of 26 week. The maximum funding per position is $7280 for any one subsidy agreement.
Workplace Adjustments Program
This new initiative aims to help offset costs of workplace adjustments for employees with disabilities, and to increase accessibility for customers with disabilities. An employer can apply for up to $5,000 to cover costs for adjustments such as:
- Adaptive technology
- Software to increase access
- ASL interpretation
- Adjustments to the physical business location
