The Newfoundland and Labrador Student Summer Employment Program (SSEP) is a wage subsidy program to help you create employment for students who will start or return to post-secondary education in the upcoming school year.
- Be incorporated and have a Canada Revenue Agency business number.
- Be in good standing with the Registry of Companies.
- Have an office/location in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Submit activity and financial reports, and a copy of the payroll for the student, within 30 calendar days of the agreement end date.
The subsidy is $5.70 per hour towards minimum wage, for between 5 and 12 weeks. Students can work up to 40 hours a week, but a minimum of 25 hours a week must be provided in order to keep the subsidy. Employment must end on or before September 7, 2020.
The deadline for applications is noon on March 12, 2020.
