CFIB sits down with Alberta's Labour Minister

The Alberta government introduced legislation to drastically change Employment Standards and the Labour Relations Code. CFIB urged Minister Gray to slow down and carefully consider the impacts of changing everything from job-protected leaves, overtime and statutory holiday calculations, to the unionization of the workplace.
 

Changes to Alberta's labour laws

The Alberta government passed changes to the labour code. Ultimately, labour legislation modernization should aim to support small businesses and CFIB urged the government to thoroughly and comprehensively consult with small business owners.
