Leanne Hachey

Vice-President, Atlantic
Leanne Hachey currently serves as Vice-president, Atlantic for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). In this role, she lobbies government on behalf of CFIB's 5,000 members in Nova Scotia. Working for the vital small and medium-sized (SME) sector, Leanne focuses her energies on ensuring Nova Scotia is the best place to run a business, live and raise a family.
Born in London, Ontario, Leanne has lived across the country in communities large and small but decided to make Nova Scotia her permanent home in 1998. Her first taste of the province was in 1989, when she attended the University of King's College's Foundation Year Program. She went on to complete a Political Science (Hons.) degree from the University of Western Ontario, along with a Diploma in Journalism from Calgary's Mount Royal College as well as a Masters of Public Administration degree from Dahousie University.
A former journalist, Leanne worked both in print and in television before coming on board with the CFIB in 2002. The role of government in Canadian society and the need for entrepreneurial and independent communities as a foundation for economic development are some of her special interests.
