Byron Smith
Byron D. Smith is the owner of BDS Management Consulting Inc. and Byron Smith, Chartered Accountant. His area of expertise includes providing business advisory services to many small to medium, owner managed businesses, municipal councils and credit unions and undergoing comprehensive, internal and external financial audits of corporations, governments and non-profit organizations.
Byron obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. Byron continued his studies in accounting, receiving the Chartered Accountant certificate in 1989, going on to complete his C.F.E. in 1997. Other achievements include, being actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce, acting as the local Board of Trade’s Chairperson and Treasurer. Byron serves on the Practice Inspection Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland. He is also a member of the T.C. Shriners Club and the Kiwanis Club of Carbonear.
Byron is married to Maureen, a special needs teacher and they have three children, Stacia 17, Sarah 6 and Bruce age 3.
