  • 97.4%: The percentage of businesses in Nova Scotia considered small and medium
  • 60,600: The number of self-employed individuals which has grown over the years and represents a significant percentage of total employment in our province;
  • $500,000: Ceiling for revenue earned by most SMEs;
  • 28.9%: The percentage of total workers that small firms with fewer than 50 employees employ;
  • 50%: 5-year survival rate for SMEs in most sectors;
  • 3500: The number of jobs created in the self-employed sector.
